I'm so sorry to hear that you are ill and impressed that you cranked out some writing anyway!
"The ache is just what it means to be alive."
Reminds me of the concept articulated by Blaise Pascal as the "infinite abyss" which some are able to fill with their love of God. The God I read about in "Jesus Calling," a gift from my sister, doesn't do it for me. I certainly experience the ache Kate Bowler describes & am trying to embrace it rather than cure it.
I missed your comment in the delirium of my virus. :) And thanks for the two lines of inquiry you shared. I’m following up on them. I appreciate your readership RCA!
I've been bothered by some minor, but annoying, health issues lately. Feeling sorry for myself. Then I started watching the Paralympics. If people can ski while nearly blind or without legs or arms, I can get over myself! Feel better soon!
It’s remarkable how far the mind can travel when the body is still. It sounds like your symptoms took you on a journey inward, to the heart — and what a deep and beautiful one that is.
Thank you dear smart optimist for gathering these thoughts and sharing them even while you’re laid low. Sending big healing love across the universe.
